Plain-Language Summary
This page explains how my practice works, including privacy, confidentiality, communication, fees, and cancellations.
In short:
What you share in sessions is private, with some legal safety limits
You can text my work mobile with updates for discussion during sessions; but, it is not monitored continuously and is not for emergencies
I use NovoNote to store notes, which includes AI-supported tools (this can be discussed)
24-hours notice is needed to cancel an appointment without incurring a cancellation fee
If you are unwell or contagious, please do not attend in person — a telehealth option can be arranged
You are welcome to ask questions or request adjustments at any time.

Limits of confidentiality:
What you share in sessions is confidential. Your information is not shared without your consent except when I am professionally and legally required to where:
There is serious risk of harm to you or someone else;
There are concerns about child safety;
I am required by law (e.g. court order);
You give consent to share information.
Where possible, I will discuss this with you first.
What information I collect:
Name, contact details, and date of birth
Information about your mental health, wellbeing, and support needs
NDIS and/or Medicare information (if applicable)
Session notes, care plans, and correspondence.
How your information is stored:
In my practice, the following applications are used to store records.
Cliniko
NovoNote.
Each of these applications exceeds or meets all regulations of the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), ensuring that all personal and patient data is handled with transparency and care.
All data is stored safely on secure servers located within Australia.
NovoNote uses AI-supported tools to assist with note taking
These tools support efficiency and accuracy and do not replace my professional judgement
AI tools are not used to analyse, diagnose, or make decisions about clients
Records are password-protected and encrypted
Use of NovoNote can be discussed and negotiated.

Access:
You can request access to or correction of your information at any time.
Records & retention:
Records are stored securely and kept according to legal requirements, then safely destroyed.

Therapy and capacity-building supports are collaborative.
By engaging in services, you consent to:

Ask questions, pause, or stop at any time.

Messages are checked between 9:00am–5:00pm, Wednesday to Friday
I do not provide an emergency service.

Fees
Discussed before or at first session
Payment is due on the day of the appointment unless agreed otherwise.
Cancellations
Your appointment is important to me. To provide the best service, I ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.
Non-attendance and cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time may be charged a cancellation fee equal to the full appointment fee to cover lost booking opportunities.
Illness
Do not attend if contagious
Telehealth can be arranged.

Secure platforms are used
Same standards as in-person sessions apply.

You are encouraged to raise concerns with me directly.
